From the dawn of breath

From the dawn of breath, the start of things

to the twilight years of life,

across the frontiers of a new age bringing me

this stressful state of grief.

This world is mine, this life is mine

and apparent to all I know;

so deep you find me as I fade away

an unforgiving waste of life?

Beginning mine, forever mine alone,

take away the preacher men.

An emptiness, a barren land to fill,

a cover of discontent.

It continues thus, in ever shallow ways,

ever spiraling to a point;

so deep you find me as I to call for you,

my angry state of miscontent.

And within this carpet shell, without a cause of need,

consumed by envy and power, consumed by lust and greed,

and taken in by the lights of man, such ties to secret wealth;

forgiveness of just the faintest hope to rescue me from myself.

Through my time of life, this time of mine,

all the good things comfort me.

Through my time of life, this time of mine,

all the good things comfort me.

Sometimes, Lord, when you call on me

I can’t even spare you the time.

Sometimes, Lord, when need me to help you

I just concentrate on what’s mine.

But always Lord, I always yearn to work for you,

I long to speak and live for you.

Under the leaden skies, O jesus speak to me,

O Jesus let me hear your voice.

This song was written initially as 'So deep you find me', on 8th August 2010, and, through various incarnations, finalised as 'From the dawn of breath', with the most recent update of the words being on 14th December 2018.

The song moves through various philosophical issues from life, grief, death, envy and power, to result in the singer's desire to be one of God's servants, after everything is said and done.

Vocals provided by Chris from Vocaloid.
